The Hilda Jayewardenaramaya Buddhist Monastery and meditation centre is established to preserve the Theravada Buddhist teaching in the Western world.
The provision of facilities for ordained monks to practice the noble teaching, disseminate the Buddhist teaching among lay people (i.e. morality (Sila),
concentration (Samadhi), wisdom (Panna)), and teaching noble qualities such as tolerance, hospitality, compassion, and loving kindness are our objectives.

The purpose of this Newsletter published on a monthly basis is to disseminate the teachings of the Buddha as we understand.
Writing Dhamma articles is mentioned as one of the powerful meritorious deeds in the Eightfold Path under skillful action.
The newsletter always explores the significance of the Buddha as the supremely enlightened teacher for all,
the Dhamma as the sole savior and the Sangha as the ideal living examples of the Dhamma. Based on Tripitaka, commentaries,
sub-commentaries and personal interpretations, the Dhamma is analytically and philosophically investigated herein with the intention
of arousing the spiritual faculties of the reader. In addition, we hope to publish about programs and other important events conducted
within and outside of the Hilda Jayewardenaramaya Buddhist Monastery recognizing the significance of the activities to the noble practice.
