If there is no personal self then whose Kamma am I reaping? Thank you.
"Thanks for the question. To understand non-self first try to comprehend what it is self? Ordinary living beings usually think 'I live' 'I eat' 'I go' and so on. This is called mental proliferation which can happen related the past as well as future. for example let's take a sentence 'it was me who help you on that day. but I won't be doing it again'. It shows that we accept ""I"" and ""you"" who have been living from the past and they will exist in the future too. Above all what we can realize is believing on unchanging permanent ""I"". In the ordinary world the word ""I Me and Myself"" have been used to our material body. Also when a kind of pleasant or unpleasant or neutral feeling arises we habitually say 'I feel' I felt I will be felling"". similarly we use to take everything come to us possessively. When there is such perceptions there is a view that 'I am better than other or I'm same with others or else I am not like others. In many ways we create situations ideas and many things in us because we are deluded by own senses and sensory experiences assuming there is something true. However the truth is that material body recognized as 'I me and myself' is uncontrollable. if we carefully look at our body what has happened to it when it compares to the body in ten years back? It has definitely changed. if it was yours why could not keep it without changing? In ten years back you named it as ""I"" or 'Me' or Myself"" which is quite same today. However there is a dramatic change of it. This shows that self is a creation of unawareness of the true nature of the physical body or mental fabrications arose based on body. When we understand this truth of ourselves it is the understanding of non-self. It has different faces though. The one who realizes non-self is calm and serene because he is neither greedy nor is he hating. Another thing we need to understand is the difference between the conventional truth and the absolute truth. Convention is something created for identification: for example we name a being who has four legs as ' a dog'. why it is named as such because there are many four-footed animals different from dog. Its name is not representing the absolute truth it is only a convention made to identify the being. The absolute truth is the reality of the things. Let's take the conventional dog. According to absolute truth it is only a collection of some substances such born muscle hair blood and so on. Primarily there are only four elements; solidity cohesion air and heat. a consciousness has come to make it alive. collection of all these material and immaterial things exist there frequent changing. This is the absolute truth and when there is such understanding in mind there is no craving or attachment because human mind does not crave for departed substances but naturally for one unit made from many things. Now let's get the question of you 'If there is no personal self then whose Kamma am I reaping?. When the wise individual becomes aware of no personal self he or she does not bother of anything and everything. He does only what is needed. he does not harm anyone instead compassion is developed. Therefore no matter how much kamma is perform they are wholesome and he knows they are directing him to be peaceful. There are many things to explain in this subject but I think this is enough for the question."

Monks, if others speak in disparagement of me, of the Dhamma or of the Sangha, you should not be angry, resentful or upset on that account. If you were to be angry or displeased at such disparagement, that would only be a hindrance to you.
If others disparage me, the Dhamma or the Sangha, then you must explain what is incorrect as being incorrect", saying: ‘That is incorrect, that is false, that is not our way, that is not found among us.’
Monks, if others speak in praise of me, of the Dhamma or of the Sangha, you should not on that account be pleased, happy or elated. If you were to be pleased, happy or elated at such praise, that would only be a hindrance to you." If others praise me, the Dhamma or the Sangha, you should acknowledge the truth of what is true, saying: ‘That is correct, that is right, that is our way, that is found among us’.
